2017 Indie Twin Review – Growing Up Jack

growin up jack indie twin stroller review

“Together my husband and I spent hours researching the best double strollers. With so many options and factors to consider, deciding on a double for our baby and toddler was considerably harder than deciding on a single for us. It all paid off though, we ended up with one of the best: the Bumbleride Indie Twin. After a solid six months of using it, I feel like I can finally give an official review of it. It’s love, and here’s why:

The Indie Twin is a side by side all terrain stroller that can be used as a jogging stroller when the front wheels are locked. All-wheel suspensionand air-filled tires (a pump comes with the stroller) are features I didn’t think I needed, but now would have a really hard time living without. We have taken this stroller on the sand, rocky trails, and I regularly walk it on grassy hills.. all smooth and easy! Having the freedom to really take your stroller anywhere is amazing, and I am officially converted to the all terrain life.

Beyond being able to handle really rough terrain, this stroller is a dream to push and maneuver. I take it on walks daily and it always comes to Disneyland with us. One thing I absolutely need in a double stroller is the ability to push it easily one-handed and the Indie Twin completely satisfies that. I love that I have no problems pushing it while reaching down to give the baby a toy or the toddler a snack (a huge perk of side by sides, both kids are always in reach!) It really does not feel much different than maneuvering a single stroller, and it is only as wide as 30 inches (if a doorway is big enough for a wheelchair, it will be big enough for this stroller!)”…. Read more.

2013 Indie Twin Video Review by Baby Gizmo

2013 Indie Twin review bumbleride best twin stroller

We didn’t do a formal review of the Bumbleride Indie Twin last year because there just weren’t any changes. 2013 is different though! This year, Bumbleride has made a few modifications to make the Indie Twin even better than it was before.

First, we’ll highlight the changes. Then we’ll list out the specs of the stroller and finally you’ll watch the video review to see it all up close and personal!

CHANGES:

NEW FABRICS: The entire Bumbleride collection will now come in the Natural fabric. That’s right, the “Movement” and the “Classic” are out and the eco-friendly fabrics are all in. We’re really happy with this change because we like the Natural fabrics. The interior of the stroller is made of a bamboo, nylon blend that will wick away moisture from the little rider’s body and the exterior fabric on the Natural Edition strollers is made of a recycled polyester blend.

NEW COLORS for 2013: Jet Black, Aquamarine, Cayenne Red, Fog Grey, Green Papyrus, and Lotus (pink/blue)

BUMPER BAR: Included Bumper Bar (adjusts down just for fold)

CAR SEAT ADAPTER: Universal Car Seat Adapter Bar now included and compatible with:

    • Combi Shuttle
    • Baby Trend Flex Loc
    • Britax Chaperone

NEW HARNESS:  A new harness features a stronger center release button and 3 to 5 point breakaway shoulder straps which help with a faster connection and prevents entanglement.

IMPROVED PEEK-A-BOO WINDOW: Dark mesh peek-a-boo window

2012 Baby Gizmo Awards – Best Twin Stroller

Baby Gizmo Best Twin Stroller 2012 Jogging All Terrain Double Stroller
For the second year in a row, the Bumbleride Indie Twin picks up the award for the best twin stroller. It is not only gorgeous but a practical stroller that is parent and twin friendly. This all-terrain stroller is perfect for twins because it can accommodate 2 infant car seats (Maxi Cosi) at the same time, accepts two carrycots at the same time and the seats have flat reclines that you could use the stroller seats from birth for each baby.

Bumbleride Indie Twin

I’m a big fan of Bumbleride strollers. They’re functional, maneuverable, and beautifully made.

Best for: Parents of twins or kids close in age. Both seats independently recline flat with an adjustable footrest (perfect for small infants), and it can even be used with two Maxi Cosi Mico infant seats. (It’s compatible with a slew of other car seats — from Graco to Britax to Chicco — but only one at a time.) It’s surprisingly rare to have a double stroller that can accommodate two infant car seats.

Not best for: Active parents looking for a jogging stroller to run more than a few miles each week. The Indie Twin is more geared toward light jogging. It’s also not best for tight, compact spaces (although the 29” width will fit through a standard door). It’s a luxurious ride, certainly, but not exactly storage friendly.

Favorite features: Bumbleride has everything that I look for in a stroller: a full-coverage canopy (with SPF 45 protection!), smooth maneuverability, a large and accessible basket, adjustable footrests, an included cup holder, and capable wheels. In fact, these 12” air-filled tires are exceptionally capable for pretty much any terrain you can throw at it. It even has gorgeous color choices — like Aqua, which was new for 2012. And while it’s not a compact double stroller (weighing in at 34 lbs.), its size doesn’t feel bulky as much as it feels luxurious.

The only bummer: The bumper bars no longer come standard with the stroller, although you can buy them separately for $35 each.

Age/Weight limits: Newborn to 90 lbs.

Buy from: Bumbleride, $690
