Bumbleride Ambassadors – The Coils

Coil Family Bumbleride Ambassadors

Bumbleride Ambassadors – Jeremiah and Elise Coil – San Jose, CA

Jeremy and Elise can most often be found enjoying the outdoors or a nearby body of water. This is the second post in a new series named Bumbleride Ambassadors where we share active and outdoor families’ experiences with their Bumbleride stroller(s).

Please tell us about yourselves
We have two daughters, Quinn (3) and Andie (1) and live in San Jose, CA.  We met while attending school in Honolulu, HI and lived in Washington state as well.  We are a family of Aquarius’ so we are always up for an adventure!

How has your life changed since having Quinn and Andie?
Having Quinn and Andie has allowed us to appreciate the little things in life we would normally take for granted.  We cherish every moment as a family and look forward to a lifetime of memories!

Tell us about your love of the outdoors
In our free time you will find the Coil family outdoors.  Surfing, biking, and hiking are our favorite activities.  We love excursions to the beach, parks, and forests nearby and we always have our Bumbleride with us for whatever we get into!

What do you love about your Bumblerides?

We love our Indie 4!!!  As parents of a toddler and infant life is nonstop craziness, and our Indie 4 helps keep everyone sane and ready for our next family adventure.  This being our second Indie, we were amazed at how Bumbleride was able to improve such an already awesome stroller.  Numerous beach trips, hikes, and other excursions our Indie was ready for the challenge.

After a quick and painless assembly out of the box, we were ready to roll!  Folding up the Indie was never an issue, but on occasion, the arms that locked the Indie into the folding position would be difficult to clamp onto the frame.  The Indie 4 has a new style of locking arm which is more flexible and better designed.  No more wrestling to get the Indie folded!  The harness straps are also redesigned making it easier to buckle and unbuckle the little ones.

We immediately noticed the Indie 4 felt significantly lighter and more compact to its predecessor making throwing it in the back of the SUV a breeze.  The fourth wheel makes the compact design more sturdy, maneuverable, and an overall smoother ride.  Even when taking the Indie 4 off road the fourth wheel aided in stability when riding over uneven downhill terrain.  No worries of tipping over!

If you are like us, and have an independent toddler who likes to walk everywhere…then the Mini Board attachment is a must have!  We have been on numerous outings where our toddler gets a little tired of walking and takes refuge on the Mini Board for a little while, and just cruises. The Mini Board attachment is very easy to put on and take off when not needed.  It is a perfect solution keeping the whole family on the go!  The only change I would make in relation to the Mini Board would be to have some type of attachment handles for the toddler to hold on to while riding the board.  Other than that it is perfect as is, and a genius idea!

Our family LOVES our Indie 4 and can’t wait for more adventures to come!

Jennifer Aspen – Bumbleride Indie Testimonial

Jennifer Aspen Bumbleride Testimonial

“This is a picture of my daughter Charlotte conked out in her Bumbleride.  And it should tell you a couple things:
1) It’s dirty. Cause we use it all the time and I never get around to washing it (which is easy to do).
2) My child loves it. Hence the foot. Hence she’s sound asleep.
Bumbleride was our first stroller and when we are done with it, I will most likely cry. Not just because it means
my child is too grown up to ride in a stroller, but because of the memories of the places we’ve been in it.
The Bumbleride is my outing stroller, my jogging stroller, my travel stroller all in one.  It’s gone around the block
and to destinations like Cape Cod,  Big Sur, Arizona, Florida,  Disneyland and DisneyWorld.  We have used it since
Charlotte was first able to be in a stroller. It’s versatility is fantastic.  It’s design and quality top notch. This
is the stroller I tell everyone to get. Because it’s the only one you need. Thank You Bumbleride for being a part
of our lives!”

Bumbleride Indie Jogging Stroller Review

“Description: An agile all terrain stroller suitable for jogging or maneuvering around the city.” -Baby Center Editors

Baby Center recently reviewed our Indie jogging stroller! Their editor’s had a hard time imagining a better stroller to deal with life’s bumps in the road thanks to “its spacious seat and generous length” and “…because it weighs only about 20 pounds, and has a swiveling front wheel, it’s also an adept city stroller.”!

Editor’s appreciated the lockable front swivel wheel, large sun canopy with SPF protection and the included universal infant adapter, which they noted most stroller manufacturer’s do not include as standard.

Gear Review: Bumbleride Indie Stroller Review

Tales of a Mountain Family recently put Indie to the test around their home in Yellowstone National Park . Here are a few of the highlights from their review:

  • “The stroller weighs only 20 pounds, which is relatively light compared to other jogging strollers on the market.”
  • “The Indie is unique on the market because it does fit children from birth (using the included car seat adapter) through preschool age (weight limit: 45 pounds) AND adapts to those “in between” infant/toddler ages with a seat that reclines completely flat for easy napping. “

What I loved

  • “Very light (20 pounds) and maneuverable.  The front wheel that locks with a simple mechanism makes switching between strolling and running very easy”
  • “The reclining backrest can be set at almost any height to allow for comfort for any ages of child.  It can be reclined to lay completely flat for comfortable sleeping too.”
  • ” The adjustable foot rest also allows for the best comfort I’ve seen for multiple ages of kids”
  • “The adjustable handlebar is AWESOME for switching between different heights of pushers.  In fact, it can be lowered far enough down that the 4 year old can reach it to push.”

Another Opinion

“We love to share our gear and let others test and report back to us too.  Here’s what Wendie and her 6 month old daughter (about 13 pounds) thought of it:”

“I was very impressed by how adjustable/customizable this stroller was. It was very easy to snap into place, and it had a lot of “bells and whistles” that I loved. It handled well during our 3-mile run which was mostly on pavement, and Alex was still smiling when we finished. For someone who wants one piece of equipment to serve as both an everyday stroller and a jog stroller, I think it has a lot to offer. I wouldn’t take it out running on gravel roads or overly rough surfaces, but I think I would be fine running with it on a smoother trail system (i.e. finely crushed gravel).”

The Bottom Line

  • “The Indie is a great stroller that fits most families that want to be able to stroll over most terrain, do some running and have it be lightweight and comfortable for their child. It is one of the lightest on the market and fits easily in the back of a car. It truly is all-terrain and we have easily strolled through snow conditions, along with dirt paths and paved roads, of course.”
  • “We love how it is possible to have the child reclining at any angle and that , on the Indie Twin, kids can recline separately.”
  • “We wish the straps were easier to change heights for different kids (because we are always switching out who is riding.) This is the reason we only gave it 4 stars (though if we could, we’d give it 4.5.”
