Crocodile Baby Stores – Why We Chose Bumbleride Strollers

Why we chose Bumbleride Strollers for Crocodile Baby

We are now available at Crocodile Baby with stores in BC, Canada. They recently wrote a great blogpost about why they chose Bumbleride strollers. This is an excerpt from that blogpost.

“We are very picky about what strollers we sell. Every one of them has to have great maneuverability, great durability, and be backed by great after sales service from the manufacturer. We have just added Bumbleride to our list, with the Indie, the Indie twin and, coming soon, the Speed a lovely jogging specialty stroller. Here are several reasons why we have chosen this manufacturer:

The Air is Guaranteed.

Bumbleride is the only stroller company that provides a 1 year warranty on the inner tubes and tires on its strollers.

Green Fabric.

The fabric is made of recycled PET bottles and from bamboo based fabric…

A Lighter Stroller

The Bumbleride Indie is 25% lighter than its “active stroller” competitors. I  know this because I took my trusty Luggage Buddy scale and picked up each of our strollers on display (pictured above). While my device may be off as to the true weight, the relative weights of strollers is the right way to consider the “How heavy is the stroller?” question….

Made in Taiwan

Bumbleride’s factory is in Taiwan, not China. This is not a really big deal but it is nice to know the strollers are made in a smaller, family-owned factory with a real interest in making high quality products….

Getting Even Greener

In early 2016, Bumbleride will launch its new running stroller the “Speed”. Coincident with that, all of their strollers will use fabrics that have drastically reduced water consumption during the production process while improving the colour fastness. The process creates an 84% energy savings which results in 67% less CO2 emissions. How is this done? I understand it is due to the process dyeing the thread before it is made into fabric, much like the Crypton process waterproofs Clek seat fabrics. Is this a big deal?…

Safety and Health

The fabrics used in all Bumbleride stroller are Oeko Tex certified, which means they have been tested for 110 toxic substances and none have been found….”

11 Luxe Strollers That Are Really Worth It

In life, there are things you want and things you need. Strollers straddle that line. You need one, that’s for sure, especially if you’re a city dweller.

But if you’re going to be pushing something around day in and day out for several years, you want it to be as easy on the eyes as it is to maneuver. You want a thing of beauty and luxury, not just utility. That’s where these 11 standouts come in. Consider them the SUVs of strollers: multifunctional and a bit showy but for many families, the perfect marriage of want and need.

“The Bumbleride Indie 4 Urban All Terrain Stroller with Bassinet can cruise over any bump with barely a jolt, thanks to air-filled tires and all-wheel suspension. It’s got a cushy seat and an adjustable handlebar, backrest, and footrest — so both baby and parent are comfy; $600.” -Liz Krieger

Bumbleride Ambassador – Ladena Racine – Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

Ladena can most often be found on a family adventure while sharing her favorite products, crafts, recipes and travel tips on her website along the way, http://www.mybabystuff.ca/. This is the latest post in our Bumbleride Ambassadors blog series where we share active and outdoor families’ experiences with their Bumbleride stroller(s)

Please tell us about yourself and a little bit about your family
I am an elementary school teacher and mom of two kids. My husband is a graphic designer and business owner. As a family we love being active and outside. We are passionate about traveling and exposing our children to new cities, beaches and cultures.

What was the motivation behind starting/running MyBabyStuff.ca?
I have always been one to share my love of great products and experiences with my friends and family. When I was pregnant with my second child I started noticing that there was an abundance of great products available for babies. I wanted to figure out what products were a necessity, what products were worth purchasing and what products were of good quality. I thought it made perfect sense to share my thoughts on baby gear with the world by testing some out and reviewing products that would be suitable to today’s family. MyBabyStuff.ca started with mostly baby products but soon evolved with children and parent products. It now also has a growing family travel section where I highlight and chronicle trips and quick getaways I’ve done with my family.

What do you love about living in B.C and how does Bumbleride fit into your family’s lifestyle there?
British Columbia is a very special place. On the west coast of British Columbia you could literally surf on Saturday and ski on Sunday. We have an incredible landscape and are surrounded by water. Our weather is mild all year long. Bumbleride has been a perfect fit for my family since 2007. The first Bumbleride we owned was the Rocket which I used with my now seven year old daughter.  I have since owned a Bumbleride Indie and a Flite.

Bumbleride strollers make it easy for a mom to get outside and get active with their children. They are designed for active living, are easy to maneuver and look so stylish. I’ve taken my Bumbleride strollers on trails, to the beach and on many plane rides. Bumbleride strollers have allowed my family to navigate through many big cities with ease and are perfect for a quick trip to the grocery store.

What do you love about your Bumblerides?

“I’ve tested the Bumbleride Indie and the Bumbleride Flite. I couldn’t live without both strollers. Recently, Bumbleride sent me the Indie 4 in Fog Grey. I was so excited to put this new model to the test. I had seen the Indie 4 in stores and on the streets and I really wanted to know how it performs.”

Things Ladena loves about the Indie 4:

  • The large SPF 45 canopy
  • The large storage basket (I put three winter jackets in it last week!)
  • The maneuverbility
  • The sleek look
  • The air filled tires
  • The cushion on the adjustable handlebar
  • The option of using a bassinet
  • It only weighs 22lbs and has a capacity of 55lbs

“The Indie 4 is such a cool looking stroller. It makes me WANT to go out for walks. This stroller rolls smoothly and feels really small. I can push it with one hand. It turns on a dime. When I go out with both my kids I usually attach the Mini Board onto the Indie 4. Adding the Mini Board does not affect the performance of this stroller.” -Ladena

Bumbleride Indie 4 Stroller Review

If you’ve been reading my blog, you know how much I love the Indie model. That is why I was so exited about release of the Indie 4. Some parents want to have four wheels instead of three because they feel that four wheels provide better stability. I think it’s matter of preference. In my opinion, four wheels ARE more stable and easier to navigate in tight spaces, but they weigh more and take up more space in your trunk.  So you have to see what’s more important for you the weight or the stability. Here is my full review of Indie model.

The Indie 4 model is designed for everyday use like going to the mall, running errands, walks at the park or a beach. It’s NOT a jogger unlike the Indie model, but has all-terrain wheels and comes with a matching BASSINET so you can use it from birth. I think Bumbleride is trying to create serious competition for popular UPPABaby Vista model which also has all-terrain tires and comes with a matching bassinet. You can also convert Indie 4 to a travel system by using included universal car seat adapter.

I was happy to see that Indie 4 has some of the same features as Indie like oversized canopy, adjustable leg rest, deep recline, nicely padded roomy seat, adjustable handle bar, 5-point harness, huge basket, storage pocket, and easy fold. The seat has a deep recline and can accommodate a child from birth and up to 55 lbs. This buggy weighs 22 lbs which is 2 lbs more than Indie model. The extra weight comes as a result of an extra wheel.

I gave it 5 out of 5 stars because just like Indie model it has a lot of luxury features that parents are looking for. For me, the most important things are large all-terrain air-filled tires, all-wheel suspension, deep recline and huge canopy. I would like to see an automatic lock that actually works automatically so you don’t have to jump on top of the stroller to engage it. LOL. Other than that it’s a great stroller. It retails for around $599 on Amazon (free shipping/free returns and no sales tax) and comes with a bassinet, universal car seat adapter, cup holder and bumper bar.
