“I just want to start by saying that this post is NOT sponsored by Bumbleride but I have a deep love for our Bumbleride Indie Twin double stroller that is so worth sharing with all of you. It is hands down my favorite double stroller for day-to-day use, walking around town and tackling tough terrain. The Bumbleride Indie twin can handle just about anything you throw at it and we couldn’t be happier with our double stroller.
Not only is this my preferred stroller, the Bumbleride Indie Twin is the babes preferred stroller as well! It’s tall, the shade is huge, and the ride is so smooth. Because we’ve mostly given up napping, we often walk to the park and picnic and then walk home and these two always fall asleep on the walk home. It’s the perfect “put your baby to sleep” stroller. If I know we are going to be some place where I need the babes to sit quietly and comfortably in a stroller for any extended period of time, the bumbleride is my go-to.
There are so many reasons why I love this stroller… it’s not only my favorite for the babes, but it’s my favorite for myself. It’s surprisingly difficult to find a double stroller that can go over just about any terrain with two 3 year olds in it while I push with one hand and drink my coffee. The Bumbleride Indie Twin glides over just about anything with ease, which makes pushing it more enjoyable, and less like a chore.
Here’s a list of reasons why I am such a fan of the Bumbleride Indie Twin.
-Tough rubber grip for running and standing fold (won’t tear like foam handle bars)
-Standing slim fold (the smallest among all other double side by side strollers) please note that if you’re going from a single to a double, this stroller will still feel big but compared to other side by side all terrain strollers, it is in fact the smallest/most compact!
-Removable and washable fabric, even the canopies can be taken off and washed!
-Slim design, fits through all standard doorways, even the tiny ones in old buildings!
-4 wheels vs 3 which makes for more stability and smoother stroll!
-All wheel suspension (a must have for coffee runs)
-Air filled tires, sometimes this is a pain but for the most part, we don’t have issues and it makes jogging and trails so much smoother
-Appearance, it’s sleek and the color options are amazing, we have the Maritime blue and love it.
-Storage, the biggest storage basket on a side by side double, two storage pockets on the backs of each seat and two zip storage pouches on the backside of each canopy! Also a little toy or water bottle storage on the inside of each seat for the kiddos to use!
-Easy add on glider board, I will say, sometimes the glider board gets in the way but if you take smaller steps, it’s not a big deal! Extends the life of the stroller making it easy to use with 3 kids!
-Lay flat design so can be used from birth without any add ons… you can buy the bassinet but you don’t have to!
-Adjustable foot rest, so great for napping and for little legs!
If you use your stroller often and for long distances, this is the stroller for you! I don’t think this is a great stroller if you’re a speed runner but for the average jogger like myself and my husband, this has met all our running needs.
There are a few things I wish this stroller had, mainly a decelerating handbrake for our extremely hilly neighborhood but because it’s so light and easy to push, it’s also easy to navigate down hills. We have logged miles upon miles on this stroller and it is still going strong. From photography walks to beach trips, the Bumbleride Indie Twin has yet to disappoint us.” – Brandi
We arrived. We ran (with Speed). We were inspired once again.
This was the third consecutive year that we’ve sponsored the Baby Mama Division of the inspiring She is Beautiful run in Santa Barbara (we also sponsor the Santa Cruz run!) Being there, it’s impossible to not be inspired, encouraged and celebrated. The two sisters, Melissa McConville (race founder & director) and Sara Tanza (Assistant Race Director & Chief of Fun) wouldn’t have it any other way. They exude happiness and kindness + see the good in everyone. Their MORE LOVE attitude is contagious.
With motivational words posted all through the course and groups of women from all walks of life walking, running, skipping or pushing a stroller, the race goes by in a blink. Set right on the Santa Barbara coastline, the beautiful scenery is the icing on the cake.
Bumbleride’s mission is to make gear for you to get out and do what you love while doing our best to preserve the planet we all share. This run helps us see our mission in action. This year, not only did we see tons of parents out running in the fresh air with their little ones in a stroller, we were so thrilled to see RSIB take the waste element to a whole new level with both compost and recycling options next to trash bins. The race directors regularly attend conferences to help them to reduce their environmental footprint and reduce waste altogether in these large scale events. So cool.
Each year, proudly gift a Bumbleride Speed jogging stroller to each of the winners of the two distances, 5k and 5 miler. These strong, dedicated mamas deserve it! Congratulations to the 5k winner, Molly Thomson from Santa Barbara, CA and the 5 mile winner, Laura Ewing from Ventura, CA.
She.is.beautiful’s Mission Statement
Empowering women and girls through movement and community in a supportive environment where they are able to take the lessons learned on the road and trail into the rest of their lives. We believe that beauty is more of a feeling than a physical attribute. We believe everyone deserves to feel beautiful, strong, smart, and capable in their own unique way. We believe so strongly in the power of sweat and community. We think there is something powerful that happens when a women/girl learns how strong she really is and how this can impact the rest of her life.
“Our kids have more impressive travel logs than many adults. In just the first two years of her life our daughter had traveled by plane, train, car, bike, skis, ferry, raft, and canoe and had been to over a dozen states and Canada. We never intended to be on the go so much, but work trips, weddings, family reunions and vacations kept us heading to the airport or packing the car every few weeks. Each time we went somewhere, we became more comfortable and confident traveling with our kids.
The first road trip we took was when my daughter was eight weeks old. We both were fortunate to have some time off work, so we set out on a winter road trip from our home in Ventura, California to our old stomping grounds in Jackson, Wyoming with our fingers crossed. As expected with an infant, there was plenty of screaming and many freezing cold, side of the road diaper changes and nursing, but we made it and we loved the experience. That was true with each subsequent adventure—there were always bumps in the road or turbulence in the air—but getting through them and figuring things out together was incredibly satisfying.
One of the keys to success traveling with two kids was having the right gear. We have a tendency to bring everything including the kitchen sink, so this was (and still is) always a challenge for us. By the time we took our second big road trip, we were well-traveled and knew that we just needed the essentials. We have found that the best gear, especially with kids involved, is durable, lightweight, multi-functional, simple, eco-friendly and of course it has to look good too. With our daughter, we took our Bumbleride stroller with us everywhere we went, and when our son was born we upgraded to a double. It certainly served as a stroller, but just as importantly as a luggage carrier, beach cart and instrument caddy—when there weren’t any kids in it.
I always imagined that with two children we would stay home more, invite family and friends to visit us and avoid flying at all costs, but when our son was eight weeks old, we set out on a 45-day road trip through California and Oregon. We had learned a few things from the first trip two years before, so we kept our travel plans simple, open-ended and planned to drive no more than about 200 miles every few days. We made more space in the minivan by adding cargo boxes to the roof, a bike rack on the hitch, and made sure the diaper bag, a change of clothes, food, and the stroller were easily accessible. Even though people told us we were crazy, and there were certainly times we wondered if that was true, overall it was such a fun adventure and the sweetest time bonding with the newest member of our family.” – Tessa
