Coastal Cleanup Day 2019

Coastal Cleanup Day | I Love A Clean San Diego

Bumbleride Cleanup #15

Members of the Bumbleride team and local families headed to Sunset Cliffs Natural Park on Saturday, September 21st to stroll the area for trash and debris. We brought our own buckets, gloves and trash grabbers to help beautify one of San Diego’s most frequented sites. We were so excited to see multiple families with strollers supporting the cause!

We recorded the various items we collected (bottle caps, straws, single use plastics, to name a few) and talked to the kids about how these items, when left on the street or beach, negatively affect our environment and its inhabitants. It is so important for us to teach these little citizens about protecting our planet so future generations can enjoy all of the same beauty that we have today.

“Thanks for coming out again and making SCNP cleaner and safer!  At the end of the day, 73 lbs. of trash and 25 lbs. of recyclables were collected.  Good job volunteers!!!!!! “- Ranger A. Dominguez, host at Sunset Cliffs Natural Park.

In just three hours, more than 6,500 volunteers cleared nearly 145,000 pounds (72,500 tons) of waste and debris from streets, canyons, parks and the coastline in communities across San Diego County for the 35th annual Coastal Cleanup Day, organized by the nonprofit I Love A Clean San Diego. The day’s environmental protection effort took place at 107 sites around the region and prevented the equivalent of 5,500 garbage trucks emptying their contents into the ocean.

Do you clean up your local community? Share a photo to social media with @bumbleride tag to let us know what you’re doing in your local area.

Did you know Bumbleride partnered with I Love A Clean San Diego this year to donate 1% of Tourmaline Wave stroller and accessory sales to the Non-Profit that is committed to a zero waste, litter-free, and environmentally engaged San Diego region.

Recap: Run She Is Beautiful Santa Barbara 2019

September 24, 2019

Another remarkable She is Beautiful race in Santa Barbara, CA is in the books! Bumbleride has now sponsored eight consecutive She is Beautiful races in both Santa Cruz, CA and Santa Barbara, CA and they just keep getting better. Beautiful clear skies, warm coastal weather and a sold out race give this event a foundation for fun but the added benefits of great like-minded sponsors, inspirational speakers and motivational quotes along the route are the icing on the cake. Race Founder Melissa and her sister Sara, Chief of Fun, bring so much joy, kindness and empowerment to this race. They are truly naturals at this and we are honored to continue sponsoring the Baby Mama Division.

Congratulations to Bumbleride Baby Mama Division winners: 10K – Cheri Glimp of Solvang and 5K – Kari Moran of our hometown of San Diego (@grrrlrunner)!

The winners of the 5k and 10k races in the Bumbleride Baby Mama Division walk away with a brand new Bumbleride Speed running stroller.  We love seeing all of the mamas out there with their strollers and their little passengers, showing their kids that movement and connection are key to a happy and healthy life.

Come out and join us in 2020!

Beach Cleanup #13 + Era Test Drive Recap

July 23, 2019

Thank you to Bumbleride owners, retailers, friends and community members for lending your hands in our beach clean up last week in Ocean Beach, CA at Tower 4. We set up some shade, equipped ourselves with reusable gloves, buckets and grabbers and set off to make a difference. Throughout our 2 hours of collective clean up, we saved the ocean from a ton of trash. Some of the most common items we picked up were plastic straws and snack wrappers, bottle caps, pieces of glass, cigarette butts (for parents to pick up), broken sand toys, cans, and much more.

Our goal with these clean ups is to help teach our little citizens and future generations how cleaning up after ourselves and limiting single use plastics prevent trash and debris from entering our oceans and disrupting sea life. Every little bit makes a difference. Plus, they see first-hand how they can make an immediate positive impact on their local environment.

This clean up, we were excited to bring along a pre-production model of our newest Bumbleride family member, Era (featured below on right). Our new 4-wheel reversible seat stroller made with a unique, eco-friendly cork handle. We loved showing it off and seeing the great response!

Stay tuned for the next clean up on September 21st from 9-12pm for Coastal Cleanup Day hosted by I Love A Clean San Diego. We would love to have you and your little ones join us! Stay tuned for the Bumbleride cleanup site announcement.
