In honor of the first-ever LA Baby Show coming up on November 5-6, we’re catching up with some of the leaders in the LA maternity and baby community.

Most parents today lead active lifestyles, exercising or jogging with their babies and children. Strollers need to keep up with the families that use them and Bumbleride offers eco-conscious strollers that move on any terrain.

We spoke with Ryan Willson, Marketing Manager at Bumbleride, to learn more.

For someone unfamiliar with Bumbleride, how would you describe the company’s mission and core offerings?

Bumbleride makes eco-conscious strollers for families to get out and do what they love, while doing our best to preserve the planet. We offer an all-terrain stroller, Indie, a jogging stroller, Speed and an all-terrain/jogging double stroller named Indie Twin.

What is the background of Bumbleride? When was it started and how has it evolved since then?

Bumbleride was founded in 2004 when co-founders Matt and Emily Reichardt were expecting their first child and were frustrated with the lack of stroller options at the time. They set out to create their own stroller that embraced their active lifestyle and was thoughtfully designed to ensure durability, safety and function. Thanks to a small loan from Matt’s grandparents, they ordered their first shipment from Taiwan. Today the strollers are still manufactured at the same family-run Taiwanese factory and sold in more than 250 stores in the US, and 18 countries including the Poland, Russia, Canada, and Australia.

What are the most popular and/or newest services and products from Bumbleride?

We are just about to start shipping our new 2016 Indie Twin double jogging stroller which has received many improvements thanks to our customers’ feedback. Some of these improvements include: an added front wheel suspension, larger front footwells for older children, a one-step fold, improved backrest adjuster, single auto lock, standing fold without handle damage, 100% recycled RPET fabrics and canopy pop-out extensions. We also just released our first dedicated jogging stroller named Speed. Speed is the only jogging stroller to feature three wheel lock modes including a partial swivel for jogging while maneuvering. Our Indie all terrain stroller line has been around since 2007 and updated many times based on parent feedback. Indie also received all of the improvements Indie Twin received.

What sets Bumbleride apart from other stroller and baby product companies on the market?

At Bumbleride, our aim is to get a little greener with everything we do. The textiles, aluminum and plastics that make up Bumbleride products are carefully chosen for durability, safety and function, but also their environmental impact. We believe a purpose-built product should be functional and intuitive but also make a positive impact on a family’s life and the planet we all share. Manufacturing can be a dirty business so we seek out suppliers that are innovating to save energy, conserve water and reduce pollution in landfills. Materials matter.

What can parents expect to see from Bumbleride at the LA Baby Show?

Parents can expect a friendly Bumbleride staffer to offer test drives and demos of our new Speed jogging stroller ($549), Indie all terrain stroller ($529) and Indie Twin double stroller ($739), all made with eco fabrics featuring recycled plastic bottles, and featuring Oeko-Tex and bluesign fabric certifications. All Bumbleride strollers offer a 3 year warranty, eco fabrics and a one-step, compact fold.
